What would you say if Ronaldinho invited you to join one of the world's biggest football competitions? You'd like that wouldn't you? Well, I hate to tell you this, but it's not gonna happen. It was just a regular question really. Still, Ronaldinho does share a few thoughts in this recent report and indeed invites FIFA "fans" worldwide to register for the competition.

According to the respective piece, since the launch of FIFA 08, some 10,000 players across 25 countries from 5 continents have started battling for top position on the leader board in the online part of the competition via PlayStation Network. This month for example, the first qualifying events have gone live in Denmark, the Netherlands and in Hungary. They will soon move on to Korea, Portugal and over 20 other locations across the world over the next 5 months.

Here's Ronaldinho saying a few words: "The FIFA Interactive World Cup is a fantastic opportunity for all football fans to show off their skills and passion for the sport with FIFA 08. It is a great tournament in which you have to train and work hard to succeed - just like in real football, so I invite all fans to register and enjoy this party of interactive football."

According to the tournament schedule, the 24th of May 2008 will see the 32 finalists traveling to Berlin from the four corners of the world to compete at the Sony Center for the title of FIFA Interactive World Player 2008. The winner will receive an invitation to the FIFA World Player Gala 2008 and USD 20,000 in cash.

15 year old Christian L?nhart from Bagsv?rd in Copenhagen and Roland Cs?sz?r (17) from Budapest are the first players to qualify for the Grand Final.
