A new Cyber-shot handset for its users

Sony Ericsson announced its C510 Cyber-shot mobile phone back in January, and the North American version of the handset, Sony Ericsson C510a, has just been spotted on the company's Canadian official website. As many of you might already know, the latter comes to the market as a GSM/HSDPA device, which means that there are great chances that it will be added to Rogers' lineup, since it is the only GSM carrier in the country.

Sony Ericsson Canada's site does not provide any exact information on the release date of the phone, but it might come to the market in the following few months, perhaps before the third quarter of the year. There are no details on the price tag the handset might feature in Canada, but, based on the fact that it can be acquired in Europe for around €200 ($272), we could assume that the Canadian version won't be too expensive after all.

The C510a Cyber shot is expected to come to Canada in “Future Black.” What the phone will offer to mobile users in the country includes a 2.2-inch TFT scratch-resistant QVGA display that can provide a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and support for 262K colors, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper that comes with auto focus, Face Detection, Smile Shutter, geo-tagging, LED flash, video recording capabilities and slide-in lens cover, as well as illuminated imaging shortcuts.

Other features of the phone include support for Google Maps, NetFront browser for Internet access, Email capabilities, support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Media player, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity as well as 100MB of internal memory, coupled with a Memory Stick Micro M2 memory card slot that can offer support for up to 8GB of additional storage space. The Sony Ericsson C510a measures 107 x 47 x 12.5 mm and weighs 92 grams.
