14 DAY TRIAL // Canadian mobile phone carrier Rogers is gearing up for the release of a new software update for the LG Optimus 3D smartphone on its airwaves, bringing the OS flavor on this device up to Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.
The wireless operator is expected to start rolling out the software update on February 1st. LG has already put up all of the necessary details on this update on its support website.
Moreover, MobileSyrup reports that all users who will purchase a new LG Optimus 3D from the wireless carrier will receive it with the new Android OS 2.3.5 loaded right from the start.
The new software update brings along a nice range of enhancements, some of which are meant to improve the 3D capabilities of the handset.
However, LG and Rogers also included a series of other improvements with the new software update, enhancing the data connectivity capabilities of the phone.

Following this update, LG is expected to push out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system version to the Optimus 3D devices in the next few months. Most probably, the update will arrive sometime in the third quarter of the current year.
