It looks like LG has finally started to bring forth the heavy guns, after a short period of total 'blackout' that the Korean manufacturer used to assess its rivals’ moves.

After launching the G-Slate tablet in the States, which is now available from both T-Mobile and Amazon.com, LG is now preparing to bring the Optimus Pad tablet and the Optimus 3D smartphone to the Canadian market.

Rogers is reportedly the operator that will carry both devices in a few weeks. The information comes via the guys over at MobileSyrup who have been tipped regarding the availability of the Optimus Pad.

Apparently, Rogers plans to launch LG's tablet on Tuesday, May 10th, most likely along with the manufacturer's Optimus 3D.

Although no numbers have been thrown around regarding the devices' prices, it seems that the tablet will compete against BlackBerry PlayBook (already available), Apple iPad 2 and Huawei 7. The last two mentioned tablets will be exclusive to Rogers as well.

An internal Rogers document that leaked recently comes to confirm that the iPad 2 and Huawei 7 are also on the carrier's list of 'coming soon' devices.

Positioned between the Galaxy Tab 7-inch and Apple's iPad 2, the Optimus Pad comes with an 8.9-inch 3D LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 768 x 1024 pixels resolution.

According to LG, the size of the tablet was decided upon after the Korean manufacturer did some extensive market surveys and got feedback from fans.

Powered by a dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H processor, the Optimus Pad runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

Unlike the Optimus 3D smartphone, which will soon be available at Rogers, LG's tablet requires the use of 3D glasses to watch 3D content, which, thankfully, are delivered in the sales package.

Stay tuned for more information on both Optimus 3D and Optimus Pad official prices as the carrier makes them public.
