Rogers seems to prepare the launch of a couple of new handsets today, which are reported to be added to the company's ruggedized phone lineup. According to the news, the mobile phone operator plans on including in its offering the Samsung Rugby A836 and the ZTE Rock F165, which should be a rather nice addition to the carrier's portfolio.

The feature list of the Samsung Rugby A836 includes 3G data transfer capabilities, along with email/IM clients, an HTML browser, as well as a 1.3-megapixel camera. All these features are packed inside a casing that has been designed so as to withstand “dust, shock, vibration, rain, humidity, solar radiation, altitude, and temperature extremes.”

The ZTE Rock F165 comes with a little more exciting features, meant to leverage the user experience, including HSPA support, wireless video calling compatibility, a rather high-resolution screen, a 2-megapixel camera, as well as 128MB of internal storage, which can also be expanded courtesy of the microSD card slot that supports up to 2GB of removable memory.

The ruggedized ZTE Rock is also reported to include several features that would provide it with protection from the outside environment, but no specific information on them is available at the moment, as is the case with Rugby.

As for the price of the new Rogers additions, the Samsung Rugby A836 is expected to become available for about $149.99 with a 3-year contract, while the ZTE Rock should cost only $79.99 on a similar deal.

The company didn't unveil any official information on the introduction of the new ruggedized phones to its lineup of similar mobile devices, but it is expected to do so in no time, and more specs on the two handsets will be available as soon as it does, so stay tuned to learn what other features the Samsung Rugby A836 and ZTE Rock F165 will bring along.
