Following TELUS and Bell Mobility examples, Canadian carrier Rogers decided to keep customers informed with all upcoming updates for some of the devices in its portfolio.

Given the fact the all three major carriers in the country, Rogers, Bell and TELUS have similar portfolios, handset makers always had troubles offering software updates simultaneously.

This is why some of the operators will be favored while others will be among the last to receive these promised updates.

All in all, Rogers has just announced its own OS upgrade schedule for all Android devices slated for an Ice Cream Sandwich update.

In this regard, it is worth mentioning the carrier also lists the phones that already received the long-awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates, such as HTC Raider, HTC EVO 3D and Samsung Galaxy Note.

Other smartphones confirmed to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in the following weeks include the Sony Xperia arc S, Sony Xperia arc and Sony Xperia mini pro. All three 2011 Xperia smartphones will receive their promised updates in early September.

Motorola RAZR is expected to get the hotly anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in late August, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 will get the update in early September.

According to Rogers, all these release dates are subject to change. The carrier also promises it will update these tentative dates as new information becomes available.

Customers who own one of Rogers smartphones/tablets scheduled for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade should know that the exact version may be different by device.

For the time being, these are all devices confirmed by Rogers for an Ice Cream Sandwich update in the next few weeks, but others may be added on the list, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
