The Batmobile and the freedom it adds have been the biggest ones

The development team at Rocksteady working on the new Batman: Arkham Knight says that it is currently trying hard to make sure that the impressive vision it has for the title can be realized using PC and next-gen console hardware.

The company aims to make the final game in the trilogy one of the most beautiful experiences a player has ever had, conveying both the grandeur of the city they are exploring and the detail of the various characters that make an appearance by comparison.

Early demos for the Batman: Arkham Knight title are taking place on the PC, despite the fact that the full game will also be launched on the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft, widely considered to be underpowered.

Dax Ginn, a producer working on the game and marketing executive at Rocksteady, tells VG247 that “There’s a lot that the next-gen hardware has enabled us to do, and for us it’s about picking and choosing where to spend that horsepower.”

At the moment, one of the most complex elements of the game is the new Batmobile, which will allow players to quickly move across Gotham and find new ways to access secret areas.

He adds, “The atmospheric effects that we really needed to integrate in order to bring Gotham City to life is something we just knew right from the beginning that we’ve got to invest in. So when you’re ejecting out and gliding over the city and you can see the entire city laid out ahead of you, that’s a huge technical challenge to face down and overcome.”

Batman: Arkham Knight will use an open world structure, and that means the team needs to find a way to make it easy to transition between areas while also making sure that the player never experiences a slowdown.

The new title is designed to close down the story arc of the version of Batman that Rocksteady has created, while delivering the best possible version of the combat system that was introduced in the first instalment and some interesting new tools and gadgets.

The developers say that they are making sure that the narrative thread of Arkham Knight is surprising and makes the most of a new character they have created, which DC Comics will also introduce in other stories.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be delivered on October 14 of this year all over the world.
