The development team at Rockstar says that the core structure of GTA Online is designed to allow for experimentation and new mechanics, which means that players will have reasons to return to the experience even if they get bored with currently available content.

Aaron Garbut, the art director working on Grand Theft Auto V, is quoted by Edge as saying that, “What I love about our GTA Online plans is that the game is no longer static. We can continue to add these things and evolve. That’s even more exciting these days, where through forums, Reddit, etc, we have a real direct connection to the people playing the game. We can respond to what they are into and what they hate more than ever.”

Rockstar wants GTA Online to be a long-term social title that gamers will experience with a group of friends.

The community is already able to create its own events, the best of which will be promoted by the development team, and more tolls to develop modes and missions will be added in the future.

Garbut adds, “It’s something that really suits the way we work, the way we’re always trying to adapt the experience and avoid walking blindly down a set path.”

The mode was affected by issues when it launched, but its stability has greatly improved in the last month of 2013.

Rockstar is also holding regular events for GTA Online that aim to involve as many players as possible while also offering plenty of deals for items and weapons.

The single-player GTA V is also set to get more content during this year, but the team has not offered any details on the experience.

Fan speculation suggests that a new character will be added and that more ways to explore Los Santos and the surrounding areas will be added.
