Rockstar's game, The Warriors, based on the 1979 Paramount Pictures classic film, will also be developed for the PSP system. Previously, fans of the genre had to purchase themselves a PlayStation 2 or an Xbox in order to play this Rockstar title.

The two Rockstar subsidiaries, Rockstar Leeds and Rockstar Toronto, developing the game, plan to have it out and into the hands of PSP players everywhere this holiday season.

The game -The Warriors- follows the events depicted in the movie, but further enhances the storyline by expanding the Warrior's reputation throughout the whole New York area. Some levels of the game, 1 through 13- to be more exact, take place before the story depicted in the movie. After the 13th level, the player is shown in a scene duplicating the beginning of the movie. The remaining levels cover the actual action of the movie.

Because players are embodied in fact by a gang member, Rockstar's third-person game has been rated M-for mature. The main character of the game is Rembrandt, who tries to join a gang called the Warriors. He succeeds in doing that, and the first levels of the game cover Rembrandt's rookie period in the gang. If you want to know the outcome of the game, you will just have to play, but be aware that gangs from the 5 New York boroughs will be hunting you down.
