Harmonix has announced that it plans to release The Color and the Shape, one of the most loved albums by the Foo Fighters, as downloadable content for Rock Band 2. The full album will arrive on November 11 for the Xbox 360, and on November 13 for the PlayStation 3. The price will amount to 1,600 Microsoft Points or 19.99 dollars.

If you don't like the Foo Fighters album in its entirety, you can certainly get individual tracks instead, for 2 dollars. Should you take a look at the song listing that we've added below, you can see that “Everlong” is not included there, mainly because you already get it as part of the initial track list for Rock Band 2.

Here are the tracks which you will be able to play once you get the DLC: “Doll,” “Monkey Wrench,” “Hey, Johnny Park!,” “My Poor Brain,” “Wind Up,” “Up in Arms,” “My Hero,” “See You,” “Enough Space,” “February Stars,” “Walking After You,” “New Way Home.” If you asked most people, they would tell you that, from all those listed above, “My Hero” is probably the most fun song to play.

Rock Band 2 already includes full albums from Judas Priest, The Cars, The Pixies, Megadeth, Rush, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Motley Crue. The game should also be receiving a free track pack, which will feature 20 songs from less known artists. Harmonix is currently saying that there are some issues with getting the songs on Xbox Live, and that it hasn’t sent out the download tokens yet.

Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour are both out now, and battling for the hearts of those players interested in music simulators. Rock Band 2 feels more like an organic evolution of the series, with more tracks available and some improved mechanics, while Guitar Hero World Tour is a leap for the series, with full support for more instruments and the ability to create one's own music.
