Wii owners get their groove on

Music titles have become quite a target for a lot of companies looking to become partners in their development or even produce, as the chances for profit are much, much higher than in the case of usual titles. While the sales of a normal game, plus the addition of one or two pieces of DLC, will generate a fair share of profit, the money that can be made from selling game copies, instrument peripherals and the weekly DLC offerings for music titles makes them much more advantageous.

That is why companies like Harmonix and Activision are struggling to offer each week the best selection of titles that will make people buy and play them in their copies of either Rock Band or Guitar Hero, respectively.

We've already seen the tracks that Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners of Rock Band and its sequel will be getting, with artists and groups such as James Brown or Earth, Wind and Fire bringing soul and funk to the games, but the Harmonix team also announced what tracks would be arriving on the Rock Band 2 music store on the Wii console. Besides the already known songs, players will also get a chance to buy three live tracks from legendary band The Who.

Here are a couple of the songs that you will be able to play, with the full list available here:

Average White Band"Pick Up the Pieces" Earth Wind & Fire "Shining Star" James Brown "Get Up" Against Me! "Thrash Unreal" Papa Roach "Last Resort" Papa Roach "Lifeline" The Who "My Generation (LIVE)" The Who "Summertime Blues (LIVE)" The Who "Young Man Blues (LIVE)"

As always, the songs are master tracks and will be available for download in exchange for 200 Wii Points or 2 dollars. Check back next week to see what other songs will be arriving on the small white Japanese console.
