Mice are pretty normal things, but gaming mice are a different ballgame. At heart, they have the same purpose. However, they allow you to do a lot more than point and click.

Roccat's new Kone XTD Optical is a perfect example of this. With a huge precision of 6,400 DPI (Pro-Optic R5 optical sensor), it will let you aim your rifle perfectly, even through the tiniest wall cracks.

The mouse also boasts the Adjustable Distance Control Unit (ADCU for short), which lets you adjust the height, for extra comfort.

Moreover, Roccat included the Easy-Shift[+] technology, which adds extra functions to the buttons and lets you switch from the primary to the secondary one through the rear thumb button.

That said, on-the-fly DPI adjustment and Easy-Shift[+] would not be possible without the 32-bit Turbo Core V2 ARM MCU processor and 576kb of on-board memory (macros, custom lighting effects, and other settings).

Add to that the 1 ms response time and a 1,000Hz polling rate and you're in the business.

Roccat intends to ship the Kone XTD Optical to customers from the US by the end of August, but if you live in Europe or Asia you can already order it for €89.99 / $122.
