The two sound cacophonous together, but maybe that's the joy of it

With a little bit of programming skills, and the necessary hardware, it is entirely possible to create a song using nothing more than an HP scanner and a robot snare drum. Sprinkle a microphone, some ornaments and set of Christmas lights on top of it all, and you've got yourself your own personal show.

According to YouTube user bd594, the uploader and builder of this music system, the entire work was only 30 percent execution, and 70 percent timing. The user says that getting a large scanner head to move in time with the drums was one of the greatest challenges.

“As for the drums they are just a couple of solenoids connected to a pulley system in order to ampilfy [sic!] the movement. The solenoids are used and have very slow response time, you may notice a few beats are missed during the drum rolls. Believe me when I say I have a new respect for drummers,” bd594 writes.

I leave in the good company of this remarkable song. Be warned though that the video starts a bit abruptly, so you may want to turn your speakers down before you proceed.
