There is no doubt that Robin Thicke is trying to do anything in his power these days in order to get former wife Paula Patton back into his life. The “Blurred Lines” singer has made his first public appearance since the divorce was announced during a concert last night, and he dedicated a song to Patton.

Robin also made it very clear he was seeking reconciliation when he said during his performance in Fairfax, Virginia: “For y'all that don't know me and my wife separated, but I'm trying to get my girl back. She's a good woman.”

The song of choice was “Lost Without U” and Thicke admitted publicly that he had written the song for his wife. The final piece of the puzzle was his wedding ring, which he still wears and was visible as he sang on stage.

Later, when he was confronted by TMZ, Thicke told the inquiring photographers that he was “just trying to get her back.”

There was a lot of talk about just how deeply affected the singer has been with the split, since he had canceled three consecutive shows after the announcement of the divorce came on Monday. Despite the fact that the statement spoke of a “mutual” divorce, it's now clear Thicke never agreed to this.

At the same time this was going on, Paula Patton's home in West Hollywood was being literally flooded with floral arrangements, one more expensive looking than the other, undoubtedly from an apologetic Robin trying to reach out.

This isn't the only time Thicke has made a last ditch attempt to save his marriage. Last week, upon hearing that Paula was determined to file for divorce, he canceled an appearance and flew out to Canada where she was busy filming her latest movie and try to persuade her to change her mind.

As it turns out, Paula was unimpressed at this gesture, and she is said to remain so through all of Thicke's attempts to win her back. She is revealed to have decided on the split after months of humiliation brought on about cheating rumors plagued their relationship.

The final straw seems to have come when Robin and Miley gave their famous VMA performance, where the young pop star twerked shamelessly on the singer, sparking outrage. Paula had a huge fight with her husband after the show, claiming that his performance was insulting to her, especially since it took place on television and was broadcast for the entire world to see.
