Now here’s something surprising: Robert Pattinson, the “Twilight” heartthrob who was once completely averse to showers, deodorant, or combing his hair (as per his own admission), is now praising the benefits of moisturizing.

The handsome actor is now the face of Dior and, as such, he’s just given an interview to the Wall Street Journal to promote it – and also explain why he was tempted to take Dior on their offer when he was never the endorsement type of guy.

He says that another great thing that came out of the collaboration, besides the collaboration itself, was the fact that he discovered moisturizer. Rob is partial to the Dior Dermo System Repairing Moisturizing Emulsion.

“I was a brush-your-teeth-and-have-a-shower kind of guy. I can’t tell if it’s because of my association with Dior or because I’m older, but I’ve started moisturizing,” Pattinson says, before adding only half-joking, “It’s been a quite profound change in my life.”

Again, for a guy who repeatedly boasted in interviews that he wasn’t that much into personal hygiene and of whom the tabloids said he reeked on set so badly his own co-starts were avoiding him at all costs, this is one surprising admission.

Then again, it makes sense to Robert to think more of skincare as he grows older. He’s 27 now, an age when moisturizing becomes norm – which is all the more true for him because he works in an industry that focuses so much on good looks and perfect skin.

In the same interview, Robert says of his campaign for Dior Homme Eau for Men that he jumped into it with both feet once he found out that director Romain Gavras would be shooting the ad / short film.

“I like trying to do ambitious things. That’s what got me really enthusiastic about the campaign, that [Dior] wasn’t shying away from anything,” the star explains.
