Batman won't be the only crime-fighting hero in the upcoming Arkham City video game, as he'll not only be joined by Catwoman during the single-player campaign, but also by Robin, at least during the special Challenge Rooms.

Rocksteady Studios is working hard on the sequel to its hugely popular Batman: Arkham Asylum, and will deploy later this year Arkham City, a bigger, more refined experience with the famous comic book character.

We've already found out that Catwoman will be present and even playable during the story of Arkham City, and now, Warner Bros., the publisher of the game, has confirmed that another Batman comic book character will be playable.

The company has revealed what was leaked a few weeks ago, as Robin, the longtime partner of Batman, will be offered as a pre-order bonus for those who get Batman: Arkham City from North American retailer Best Buy.

Robin won't be playable during the story of Arkham City, however, as players are going to control him during the Challenge Rooms, where they need to take on waves of enemies in a certain amount of time.

The famous sidekick, as you can see in the image above, is the Tim Drake version, and will have his own special gadgets and moves, as well as two custom Challenge rooms, Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape, and an extra Red Robin character skin.

Before potential customers start worrying about this unfair pre-order incentive, Warner Bros. does hint that the special Robin pack might arrive, after the release of the game, to all those who bought Batman: Arkham City, saying that the deal is "currently available exclusively to North American fans who pre-order the game from Best Buy."

Expect more details about this pre-order bonus, at least for the moment, in the following weeks.

Batman: Arkham City is set to appear for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 18, in North America, and October 21, in Europe.
