Will produce the film for 20th Century Fox

For monster / horror movie fans, this is probably one of the best news to come their way. Talk of a third “Predator” film is building up, with none other that fans’ favorite director and producer Robert Rodriguez attached to it, BloodyDisgusting is reporting, citing the ever reliable unnamed sources from whom these reports usually come.

“A reliable source dropped us a line revealing to us that Robert Rodriquez and his Troublemaker Studios will be producing the Predator reboot for 20th Century Fox. Now here’s the kicker, the pitch being sent around town implies that the reboot will have more than one predator.” a post on BloodyDisgusting reads, much to the delight of fans of the genre.

Nothing is definite yet but, going by the old saying that there is no smoke without a fire, it’s very likely that a film to bring the franchise back to life again really is in the making, or so if we believe the aforementioned website. “In the reboot a team of commandoes face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters. No writer has been attached yet - and there is no script. No word on whether or not Rodriquez will direct, but it seems highly unlikely considering how many projects he has in development.” it is further said.

The first “Predator” film, released in 1987 and having Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leading man, enjoyed much success with the public and critics alike. The 1990 sequel starring Danny Glover, though, did not fare that well with the audiences. It was believed that this was the main reason for which the studio stopped pursuing this, choosing instead to pair the Predator with the Alien for “Alien vs. Predator” and “Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem.” Neither of the two managed to have the same impact as the first film that introduced the Predator to the world.
