Though most of you probably see him as a glittering and immortal vampire, always perfect and thin, the truth is that Robert Pattinson is just as human as the next guy and that means that he's bound to the same eternal truths like all the rest of us mere mortals.

The famous actor, who played an immortal vampire on the “Twilight” series, has just found out that time is not a man's ally in this life. Pattinson has recently admitted that he's had to take better care of himself lately since he's getting past that age where you can stuff your face with just about everything and not worry about your waist.

At the Sydney Film Festival where he's promoting his latest movie, “The Rover,” the actor admitted that “When you get to your late 20s, you start turning to fat. It’s crazy. You actually have to think about what you eat. It’s so annoying.”

On behalf of all the men past 30 in the world, we would like to officially welcome Robert Pattinson to the “You'll Never Be Able to Eat a Pizza Again after Midnight Without Getting Fat” Club, or, for short “Your Metabolism Hates You” Club.

We can't blame Robert though, as we've all been stunned one morning to find out that our bodies started taking on weight despite the fact that we were feeding them less. Pretty much the same thing happened to the actor, and he added confused “I thought it would happen a bit later.”

We all did, but that doesn't mean that wishful thinking works. Robert is going to have to hit the gym and stop eating junk food, like any normal guy after 30, but, so far, there hasn't been any significant improvement of girth as far as he's concerned. Must be that busy acting schedule that's keeping him trim these days.

During the same press call in which he was joined by “Rover” co-star and local actor Guy Pearce, Robert gushed over the beauty of the Australian outback: “I am being prompted to say how awful it was. But I really liked it. I just found it incredibly serene being able to look to the horizon. I liked the harshness of the landscape as well. There’s something strangely mystical about it.”

Apart from doing press calls, the actor was seen partying the night away with Guy Pearce. They had dinner at the Otto Ristorante in Sydney harbor then went on to the Vivid Festival to check out the action there.

We feel obliged to remind him that alcohol tends to fatten you up, as do late dinners and staying up late regularly.
