The British-born actor is said to have tired of all the attention and publicity that come with fame and he's looking to lead a more discrete lifestyle. Radar quotes one of his friends who claims that Robert “doesn't want to be famous anymore.”
Pattinson came to the attention of the press mostly due to his relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart and has been hounded ever since their split. “The cost of fame is the thing he and Kristen used to complain about all day and that hasn’t changed at all for him,” said his friend.
As it turns out, Robert isn't so willing to let go of cinematography, but he's looking to make a transition behind the camera. According to the source, the 27-year-old actor “is looking at a whole new approach to his future and is even considering going to theater school to focus more on getting behind the camera.”
One thing is for sure, “Rob’s been talking to a lot of independent filmmakers, and the last thing he wants to do is act in another blockbuster. He would like to direct a movie one day.”
There is no telling if this bitterness stems from the fact that Kristen cheated on him, as her affair with a much older man who just happened to be the director of the movie she was starring at the moment put a lot more pressure on him from the media.
But though they have now parted ways, Kristen seems to share in Robert's newfound disgust for fame. She's also expressed her wish to find an alternative career, having already made some steps into the crazy world of fashion.
While it might not be the career of her choice, she's distanced herself from acting, and it looks like Pattinson has the same general idea.
