It's not every day that you find out Robert Pattinson wanted to be a rap star. An accomplished actor (though some are still disputing that) and promising singer, Pattinson recently made a confession that is bound to leave most of his fans with the jaws on the floor.

The shocking confession was made by the actor himself during an appearance on the Late Night Show with Seth Meyers, on Tuesday, June 17. Robert came to promote his new movie “The Rover,” but ended up dishing some very interesting details about his younger years and his dreams back then.

Though you wouldn't be able to guess it by looking at him, Robert actually dreamed of becoming a rap star when he was a kid. The 28-year-old seemed embarrassed to admit that when he was half his current age, he schemed to make it big in the rapping world.

When Seth asked him if the rumors were true, he immediately replied, “100 per cent. I still kind of do.” As the questions kept on rolling, Robert also revealed his rap name at the time, and it's nothing smooth like Snoop Dogg or Puff Daddy. No, Robert called himself Big Tub.

This drew serious fits of laughter from Seth Meyers, so Pattinson felt the need to elaborate with an explanation: “I was very paranoid about my weight [in my younger years].” It turns out this is still a regular obsession with him, as he still admits he watches the scales.

In fact, the actor jokes that “I got quite sick in the last couple of days and I'm so excited about it. Next week I'm going to be so skinny!” While a large number of people can relate to this confession, lately Pattison has expressed concerns that his body won't lose as much weight as it begins to age.

The actor found out that the closer he gets to his 30s, the slower his body works to metabolize fats and the more careful he has to be with what he eats and how much he exercises.

As far as his “rap career” goes, Pattinson explains that he did get around to recording a few songs which are still somewhere out there, but admits that they were poor quality since “I didn't know how to scratch so I used to pull up and down the zip on my hoodie and record it. It sounds exactly like it! [We were] Big Tub and the Tabby Cats,” he says, without being able to keep a straight face.
