Robert Pattinson has a new movie coming out this month, “The Rover,” which was shot in Australia and also stars Guy Pearce. Amid very positive buzz for the flick, Pattinson is also doing a lot of promotional appearances and interviews – and his latest is a very lengthy piece with the Daily Beast.

Among other topics of interest he tackles in it, like his “Twilight” vampire days and whether he’s up for the roles of Indiana Jones and / or Han Solo, Pattinson also talks a bit about his favorite actors, his role models and his admiration for Jennifer Lawrence.

For the past couple of years or so, Lawrence has emerged as Hollywood’s number 1 darling, to the point where she actually said she was beginning to fear people would grow tired of her because of the exposure she got.

Still, she delivers consistent solid performances, she’s always a hoot in live interviews and tends to overshare, which makes her relatable and funny, and she’s even more fun on the red carpet if you strategically place stuff she can stumble upon in front of her.

No wonder then that Pattinson also loves her, though he’s quick to underline that they couldn’t possibly be more different.

“She’s amazing. She’s absolutely incredible. But also we’re different types of people. She seems like she’s super-confident — and I don’t have the kind of confidence. She glows. I think you can fit that into quite a few different areas. Whereas I’ve got a kind of sneak-through-the-cracks style,” Pattinson says.

He’s not playing it down about that confidence issue either. As you can see in the video below, which is a segment of his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, in which he talks about “The Rover,” Robert continues to remain very nervous on public appearances: he blushes, he sweats and he runs his fingers through his hair repeatedly, while giggling like a schoolboy. It’s cute, mostly because it means he’s not letting all that “Twilight” fame (and especially that “Twilight” money) go to his head.

As for his favorite actors, Robert includes co-star Guy Pearce on that short list.

“I like what Joaquin [Phoenix] has done. I’m always looking at his stuff — he’s been the most influential actor on me. And in a lot of ways I like Guy’s career as well. But he also does Australian stuff all the time, and I feel weird doing English things. I feel like I’m really naked,” he says.

Joaquin Phoenix is truly the definition of “fearless” in Hollywood and you only have to think at his much controversial faux documentary “I’m Still Here” to understand that perfectly. At a time when he was literally the hottest commodity on the market, Phoenix announced he was taking time off to pursue a career as a rapper.

His efforts were documented on camera by Casey Affleck and released as a “documentary” but, during the entire production, Joaquin never broke character. Some people even started to believe he was giving rap music a go and that he was also losing his mind, maybe.

The film was received with mixed reviews, but Phoenix received lots of warm praise for having the guts to shoot it in the first place, to pull off this weird social experiment.

Pattinson has chosen quite a role model for his career, wouldn’t you say?
