Fans hoping to see Robert Pattinson as Finnick Odair in the “Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire” won't get the chance. The actor himself has denied rumors that had him in talks for a role in the film.

As we also noted the other day, word online had it that Lionsgate wanted Pattinson for the role in the upcoming installment, even if that meant having the “Twilight” and “Hunger Games” franchises connected for eternity.

Fans of the latter believed he would be a poor casting choice, while Twi-hards were quite psyched about the idea, hoping it would come true.

It won't, Robert says in a statement.

“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games. I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. [My agent] was like 'no one’s going to offer you that part.' I was like, thanks for the reassurance,” Robert says.

Last week, the actor was in Cannes, where he premiered his latest film, “Cosmopolis.”
