As Robert Pattinson’s fans must already know by know, before they get to see him in the fourth (and presumably last) “Twilight” film, “Breaking Dawn,” they will have the chance to see him try his hand at playing an amoral character. “Bel Ami,” based on Maupassant’s novel of the same name, drops in theaters next year, but fans can already see how RPattz will look in the first two promo stills released, as ScreenCrave can confirm.

“Bel Ami” has already generated plenty of media and it’s not only because of Pattinson’s involvement in the project. Aside from the stellar cast, which includes Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas, the film also got much attention for reportedly including a couple very steamy scenes with the “Twilight” star, which Robert himself confirmed a while back. Judging by these two shots, though Robert’s character will be amoral, at least he’ll also be incredibly good looking.

“Last year it was announced that Robert Pattinson would once again use his sunken cheeks to seduce audiences in his new film, Bel Ami. It’s a period piece that co-stars several veteran actresses including Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Christina Ricci. Not only will his character be surrounded by a cast of ladies but we’re pretty sure he’s going to sleep with 90% of them,” ScreenCrave writes. This, of course, begs the question of how fans used to seeing him as the brooding but ultimately sweet Edward Cullen will react.

“Bel Ami centers on George Duroy (Pattinson), a young journalist who rose from poverty to become one of the most successful men in Paris via the ruthless and calculating bedding of the city’s most glamorous and influential women. Thurman plays the wife of Duroy’s friend, a woman who is extremely involved and connected in the goings-on of Parisian society. She helps Duroy in his ascent, later becoming his wife,” the same movie publication says of the plot.

When speaking about certain scenes included in the script, Pattinson himself said a while back that they would totally take audiences by surprise by presenting the exact opposite of how moviegoers see a period piece. At the same time, the British actor admitted to being very happy about the challenge presented to him with “Bel Ami,” which offered him the chance to do something different from the Edward Cullen character.
