14 DAY TRIAL // In the aftermath of the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal, there's been a lot of speculation of what exactly would happen on the promo tour for “Breaking Dawn Part 2,” which would have to see her and ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson in the same room, playing nice for the cameras. Summit Entertainment has found a way out.
It was Robert himself who suggested it to the studio, an insider tells Hollywood Life.
As we also noted a couple of weeks ago, Summit bosses were worried that the affair that ended the Kristen and Robert romance would translate into poorer sales for the vampire film or, best case scenario, into lots of awkward moments on the red carpet, during promotional appearances.
Apparently, that won't be the case because Robert has specifically asked to be kept at a safe distance from Kristen at all times, the aforementioned celebrity e-zine says.
This will also mean fewer promotional appearances (that is, fewer than in previous years), but also separate appearances for the two leading stars.
Summit will be doing its best to keep Robert and Kristen apart, admittedly. Luckily, “Twilight” doesn't lack stars to pair them with to do the media rounds.
“Kristen Stewart is definitely still in love with Rob and is going through the motions of a breakup,” a spy says for HL.
“She really wants him back but Rob is not interested in talking to her right now and that is certainly making things difficult for the plans on doing any press together for when Twilight comes out,” the insider goes on to say.
“Chances of them being in the same room is highly unlikely. They are going to have the timing of interviews timed out to prevent awkward encounters,” reveals the tipster.
Just off the top of our head, we could imagine Kristen doing interviews with Taylor Lautner or the other Cullens but Edward, while Pattinson could be paired with Mackenzie Foy, who will be playing his daughter in the final installment, or any of the Volturi vampires.
In other words, if Summit is really planning to keep the two apart during the media tour that will kick off in a few weeks, it has plenty of ways to do that.
