His recent “Little Ashes” might have failed to impress critics, but Robert Pattinson is not lacking offers for non-vampire movies. In fact, he is the hottest thing around in Hollywood at this point in time – which only makes it so that being cast for another movie qualifies for great news for his millions of fans around the world.

Variety informs that Emilie de Ravin of “Lost,” Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper will be joined by Robert Pattinson for the upcoming “Remember Me,” a drama directed by Allen Coulter. The film will see Robert as a young man with serious issues, mostly caused by his brother’s suicide. De Ravin, who will play his love interest, also carries some pretty interesting baggage on her own, so having the two characters clash should turn out as something really worth-watching.

“Pattinson plays a young man whose brother’s suicide has split up his parents (Brosnan and Olin) and left him sleepwalking through life. De Ravin will play a young woman who, after watching her mother get killed before her eyes, seizes life to its fullest. Cooper is being courted to play her father. Will Fetters penned the script, with a rewrite by Jenny Lumet ('Rachel Getting Married'). Nick Osborne and Trevor Engelson are producing through their Underground Films banner.” Variety says of the film, which is scheduled to go into production in New York on June 15.

Whereas a release date has not yet been announced for “Remember Me,” fans will probably get the chance to see Robert first in “New Moon,” the second installment of “The Twilight Saga,” which is scheduled to drop in theaters in November. In recent “New Moon” news, production on it is coming to a close, with shooting with the main actors already concluded, as reports in the US media have it. Robert Pattinson has already confirmed that Summit Entertainment would also be making a fourth film, “Breaking Down,” and admitted to being interested in reprising his part as the handsome vampire Edward.

Until that happens, though, “Eclipse,” the third film in the series, is scheduled to start shooting eight weeks from now, so the actors have only this little spare time until they’re back on set. For more on this and on “Remember Me,” keep an eye on this space.
