When he was still starring as Edward Cullen in “The Twilight Saga,” Robert Pattinson used to joke a lot about how they had to paint abs on him for certain scenes because he wasn’t fit, just skinny. In a new interview, the actor reveals he has plans of hitting the gym soon.

Pattinson has a new interview out with Celebrity Health Fitness and, among other things, he also talks about life in LA and how he never falls in with the crowd, the end of “Twilight” and, of course, his lean but not toned figure.

In his usual style, the British actor jokes that he must be some kind of “freak” in Hollywood for failing to meet industry standards for men.

“I think I don’t get some jobs because I don’t go to the gym. I am literally the only actor in LA who doesn’t have a six-pack. Although I am going to have to change that,” he admits.

“In my next film I have like three intimate scenes so I am literally thinking of those to get in shape… I don’t ever want anyone to see me doing exercise. Even though I am doing it, I still think it’s so lame and embarrassing; I am doing it out of necessity, that’s all,” Pattinson continues.

In other words, it’s perhaps a habit he doesn’t plan on keeping after he’s done shooting the movie.

Even so, it’s not hard to imagine the ladies throwing themselves at his feet: he might play it coy, but Pattinson is definitely a ladies’ favorite.

On the topic, the actor says that his perfect woman is one that is “the opposite of what I am – I am so all over the place.”

She also has to know how to dress.

“If someone looks good in their clothes it’s because they are comfortable in their own skin – it’s literally just like owning it. Oh no! That is so lame, I feel like I am on Project Runway saying ‘own that’,” Robert explains.
