It may come as very little consolation after the Kristen Stewart hearbreak, but Robert Pattinson is still enjoying a lot of popularity with the public. So much so, in fact, that he’s just been voted the hottest man for 2012 by Glamour UK.

This is the second year that the handsome “Twilight” star wins such an enviable accolade, which is all the more important since fans are those who vote for him, so it’s a reflection of his popularity.

Tom Hiddleston of “Thor” and “The Avengers” comes in second, with “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp hot on his heels.

At number 4, fans voted for Michael Fassbender, who just recently broke into Hollywood with his critically acclaimed performance in “Shame.”

Benedict Cumberbatch, whom fans know from BBC’s “Sherlock” series, and who will appear next as villain in the highly mediated “Star Trek” sequel, comes in at number 5, though his is anything but a conventional beauty – and he continues to be baffled by how much attention he gets for it.

Robert Downey Jr., Taylor Lautner, Paul Wesley, James McAvoy and Henry Cavill round up the top 10 of the most handsome men of 2012.

The remaining 10 positions of the top are occupied as follows: Cory Monteith, Ian Somerhalder, Ed Westwick, Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Manganiello, Danny O’Donoghue, Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hardy.

As fans must already know by now, Robert Pattinson will be seen next on the big screen in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2,” in which he plays the ever-young, handsome and brooding vampire Edward Cullen, in a story based on Stephenie Meyer’s original books.

Confirmation has come that Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will be reunited for the first time after the cheating scandal on November 15, on the first promo stop for “Twilight.”
