Anyone who’s a true fan and perhaps even those that aren’t know that British star and hottest heartthrob Robert Pattinson of the “Twilight” fame – but not only – does not really like being in the spotlight. He loves acting more than anything else, but, if he could, he would choose to have an acting career without the constant media attention, the star says for the latest issue of AnOther Man Magazine.

Constantly showered with attention and hounded by the paparazzi, Pattinson often looks like he would be grateful if he could just disappear. To make sure that he doesn’t encourage even more the ongoing frenzy, the star also tries to keep a very low profile, to the point that entire weeks can go by without as much as a word of his whereabouts getting out in the media – not at all an easy task, what with the paparazzi and the tabloids’ secret ways of always getting to the bottom of things.

It’s no wonder then that, whenever he does agree to do promotional work and grace a magazine or do a televised interview, fans go wild. The same has happened with his most recent interview for AnOther Man Magazine, where he goes into details about how “Twilight” changed his life, how he would trade fame for experience, and how much he loves being a part of the movie industry. Still, as one can easily imagine, the accompanying photospread has also stricken a chord with the fans, since Robert does his best brooding face in them.

“I had no idea at all. I’d seen Kristen Stewart in ‘Into the Wild’ and some of the director Catherine Hardwicke’s other films, and that’s all I thought it was, something really small.” Robert tells the mag of what his thoughts were when he boarded the “Twilight” franchise, which has just recently been proclaimed the biggest movie franchise and cultural phenomenon of our times. As fans know, he’s not the only one to think so, since actually no one involved could have foreseen the amazing reaction the film got from the audiences all over the world.

Still, while acting is something Pattinson could probably not live without, the fame that comes with it is not on that list. “I don’t want to be an actor for the sake of it. I don’t find any particular pleasure in being an attention-seeker.” Robert further says for the same magazine as to his purpose and goal in life, career-wise.
