“Twilight” fans must already know that heartthrob Robert Pattinson is not only an actor but also a singer. However, what fans probably don't know is that he once wanted to be a rapper – and he still has his stash of tapes.

Pattinson, who can even be found on the “Twilight” official soundtrack, and who once said that he turned down an offer from Simon Cowell for a record deal, has made the surprising revelation in a recent interview.

The star says that, growing up, he wanted to be a rapper so he made a lot of tapes that he hoped would make him famous. As it happens, he never got to throw them out.

“You want a secret? OK, how about this – I've got a whole collection of tapes of me rapping from when I was 13,” Pattinson said in a recent interview cited by DigitalSpy.

“I wanted to be a rapper so there are hundreds and hundreds of tapes. They're very amusing!” the actor further revealed.

What's more amusing about the tapes is that many of them contain lyrics that had nothing to do with reality – that he “borrowed” from his favorite artists because he needed to get street cred.

“Most of my rhymes were stolen off other people anyway. They were all like, 'I was raised on these streets', which was a complete farce because I was actually raised in quite a nice area of London called Barnes. Not very ghetto at all!” Pattinson said.

However, his dream of being a rapper was genuine. “I was obsessed with it all, though. I even had my own little crew – we called ourselves Big Tub and the Tappy Cats,” Robert admitted.

As ridiculous as his aspirations as a rapper might have been, the star would still kill for a chance to get up on the stage with his favorite artist of all times, if ever offered the chance.

“I'd love to rap with Eminem! That would be really amazing,” Pattinson gushed.
