As he was leaving for home after his performance on X Factor over the weekend, Robbie Williams was involved in an incident that could have proven fatal for a too nosy photographer. As the chauffeur-driven car in which the singer was was heading for the exit, a young paparazzo was hit and then pulled underneath the moving vehicle, 3AM informs.

The singer was said to have been so shocked about what had just happened, that he instantly burst into tears. Luckily for the young photographer, the fact that the car was not moving at high speed saved him from serious injuries. Still, he did have to be seen by a doctor and has probably learned his lesson about not getting too close to stars when they’re in their cars, several British publications are saying right now.

“If you thought Robbie Williams’ somewhat shambolic X Factor performance was controversial, wait until you see his exit – we’ve got an exclusive video of the moment his chauffeur-driven car hit a photographer.” 3AM says of the incident. In all fairness, the video in question does not show how the pap ended behind Robbie’s car, but it does show security guards trying to pull him out of it, as the shutters of the cameras continue to go off at an insane pace.

“Robbie waved at paparazzi who were waiting outside The X Factor studios to catch a glimpse of him, but one young photographer got a bit too close, and ended up being struck by the car as it pulled away with Robbie inside. Luckily, the 18-year-old, known only as Steven, only received minor injuries. After the initial chaos had died down, Robbie himself got out of the car and appeared to be crying.” the same publication further explains.

As we were also telling you just hours ago, Williams’ performance on the popular television show failed to get the kind of reception both producers and the singer had anticipated, being welcomed with mixed reactions. Robbie, as far as he’s concerned, has revealed he sees it as a good way to kick-start his comeback after a three-year break, although he too admits it could have been better.
