"Riven: The Sequel to Myst" delivers the massive island Age of Riven with all of its amazing detail on the iPhone’s small screen. However, all this high-level detail and graphics comes at a cost - storage space.

Cyan Worlds, the developers, claim that “Riven for iOS is a VERY, VERY large application.”

In fact, they even went out of their way to try an squeeze all the bits in a 1GB .ipa package.

“We’ve managed to optimized Riven from its original DVD size to a little over a gigabyte. Even at that size it’s one of the largest iOS app we know of - so PLEASE BE PATIENT - download times and syncing times can be longer!”, a note in the app’s iTunes description reads.

They signal that some “slower” iOS devices might pause the download for 10 or 15 minutes, therefore patience is again a must.

“Because of the large size it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you download Riven on your computer using iTunes, and then sync with your iOS device,” the warnings continue to pour.

Needless point out, do not attempt to download Riven over your cellular data provider’s network.

“Downloading directly to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is theoretically possible via a wireless connection, but... uh... well... you really don’t want to,” the folks at Cyan Worlds believe.

Finally, the developer makes one more important note, explaining that iDevice owners looking to install Riven will actually need to start off the download with at least 2GB of free space.

“Because of the way the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch install apps, you will need to have about 2 gigabytes of free space to install Riven,” the development studio explains. “Once it's installed you can use the extra space again.”
