Singer Rita Ora, unjustly compared by many to Rihanna and branded a less exciting version of the Barbadian singer, is now the face of Madonna’s Material Girl collection. During a photoshoot in Miami, she fainted and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Rita rarely makes headlines for reasons other than her music or outrageous (but in a good way) fashion, so if you’re thinking she did not faint but passed out because of drugs / alcohol / a combination of both, you’re wrong.

TMZ spoke to the doctor who treated her and found out the spell was brought about by exhaustion and dehydration. Rita was on a set near SoHo Beach House hotel when it happened, with photos available at the Daily Mail showing she’d been feeling poorly for some time.

However, she passed out in her trailer and was carried by a bodyguard to the ambulance. TMZ has photos of Rita in the back of an ambulance, clearly unconscious.

“Ora's doctor, David Farcy, tells TMZ Rita was treated for heat exhaustion and dehydration. She's been discharged and Dr. Farcy says she's fine,” the celebrity publication writes.

“She flashed a big smile to fans when she returned to her hotel from the hospital. Rita was in the middle of a photo shoot for Madonna's Material Girl campaign in Miami when she was taken ill,” the report adds.

Rita also made plenty of headlines almost one year ago, when her romance with Rob Kardashian, Kim Kardashian’s brother, went up in flames after he decided to break up with her on Twitter, telling his followers that the reason he was dumping her was that she’d slept with “20 dudes” who had promised her they would help her out in her career.

Rita fought back on the same channel and, for a while there, the entire world witnessed one of the nastiest breakups in showbiz in recent years. Luckily, they realized quickly that what they were doing was a bad PR move for both, and they stopped.
