14 DAY TRIAL // Another day, fresh “Fifty Shades of Grey” casting details. The movie went into actual production the other day, with the first photos from the set emerging online and, now, we have even more exciting news for fans of the original books.
Singer Rita Ora has joined the cast, as she says herself on her Twitter. “It's official! I've been cast in @FiftyShades of Grey as Christian's sister Mia. #FiftyShades,” Rita explains.
Mia isn’t a major character, so I don’t think Rita will actually be getting lots of screentime but, whichever way you look at it, this franchise is the perfect vehicle for a pop star looking to make her debut in film.
Until not long ago, model Cara Delevingne was said to be lobbying for a part because she too wanted to break into movies. In other words, laugh at “Fifty Shades” if you will (and there have been millions to do just that), but it’s the ideal launching pad.
The first installment in a planned trilogy will be out in early 2015. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson play leads, with Sam Taylor-Johnson in the director’s chair.
