Over the weekend, Rihanna performed at the March Madness Music Fest in Indianapolis, debuting a new song that would also be included on her upcoming eighth studio album, “R8.” It’s called “American Oxygen” and it also has an official music video now.

Because Rihanna is one of the many artists who are backing up Jay Z’s new music streaming service, Tidal, the video has been released exclusively here. That means that fans who want to see it have to pay for this anywhere between $10 to $20 (€9.22 to €18.44).

However, just like with Beyonce’s video for “Die with You,” which was released the other day on Tidal on the occasion of her and Jay’s wedding anniversary, “American Oxygen” has found its way online as well.

You can see it in the YouTube video below. It’s low quality and it might not stay up there for long, but it’s enough to make you see Rihanna at her most powerful and emotional.

While the lyrics present the “American dream” from her eyes and her experience as an immigrant, the footage shows America at its best, but also at its worst.

You will recognize footage from Klu Klux Klan events, the Ferguson riots, the Occupy Wall Street movement, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s funeral, but also The Beatles’ first visit to the country.

“American Oxygen” is directed by Jonathan Craven, Darren Craig and Jeff Nicholas from The Uprising Creative, who previously worked with Rihanna on her 2013 video “What Now.”
