With Rihanna apparently moving on with her life, and past the February 8 incident in which Chris Brown attacked her and reportedly left her almost unconscious, it seems that the LAPD and the DA still have a pretty strong case against the assailant. The statement she gave on the day she was brutally beaten up as to Brown becoming progressively more violent towards her is more than enough for prosecution, sources from inside the police tell TMZ.

Despite the fact that Rihanna got back with Brown and might say that it was her who provoked the fight, the DA should have a strong case as it is, TMZ has learned. This is because she herself told police officers at the scene that Chris Brown’s beatings got worse in time, escalating until he almost choked her to death on February 8 and a concerned passerby called 911 after hearing the cries of the “Umbrella” singer.

“Even if Rihanna refuses to cooperate with prosecutors, the L.A. County District Attorney may have evidence even more powerful than the gruesome photos. Multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the night of the attack Rihanna told cops she was the victim of escalating violence – and the perp was Brown. LAPD cops interviewed Rihanna after the attack and she told them Brown had been violent toward her in the past and that the attacks were getting ‘more violent’ as time went on. The interview is potent evidence if the L.A. County D.A. charges Brown with felony domestic battery.” TMZ says.

Moreover, the LAPD has more damning evidence against Brown, it is further being revealed. Aside from the photo that was leaked on the Internet a few days ago and that shocked the entire media because it clearly showed the extent of the injuries Rihanna sustained during the altercation, there are others that make this one pale by comparison. These and the statement Rihanna gave immediately after the attack could seal Brown’s fate.

“The photo that TMZ obtained showing Rihanna battered, bloody and bruised is mild compared to other photos. We’ve learned additional pics were taken on February 9, the day after the attack, and they are far more gruesome – the bruises and swelling far more pronounced. We’re told these photos show injuries that could be devastating in a case against Brown.” TMZ adds.

Blood stains have also been found in Chris Brown’s rented car, the one in which the beating allegedly took place, other reports have it. With the DA confirming that the LAPD turned over the case and with the 19-year-old singer scheduled for arraignment today, make sure you keep an eye on this space for more details.
