She's been praised for the audacity with which she blends different styles, and for her originality and now, Rihanna gets to put all that in a collection with her signature on it. She's just confirmed she's branching out.

The pop star is definitely keeping very busy these days. She decided to put music on hold for one year, in the sense of not going into the studio for a new album, and to focus on other projects.

One of them is film. The other, BET informs, is fashion.

Rihanna herself confirmed the news during an interview with Ryan Seacrest for his radio show.

“It’s a collaboration, and it’s like 7 to 10 pieces. Apparel and accessories and we’ve done the fall collection already, and it was very, very successful and now the spring collection is about to drop,” Rihanna began by saying, speaking of her collaboration with Armani.

For her next project, she will be taking matters into her own hands, so to speak.

“After that I’m really pursuing a fashion line of my own. I want to design,” she says with determination.

She doesn't expect people in the industry to be swept off their feet at the mere mention of her name. She wants to make a name for herself based on the actual work she'll be doing.

“This is also a road that I want to earn it. So I’m working with designers. Designers that I respect, and [fashion] companies that I respect,” Rihanna explains.

In the end, it all comes down to the customer.

“I want people to really trust me before I just say, 'Buy it, because it’s mine',” she says.

While fans must already be excited about the idea – they've already started talking on dedicated forums about how the collection will look, and what style it could embrace – Rihanna is wary of dishing too many details yet.

Keep an eye on this space, and we'll keep you updated with more.
