It's nearly impossible to find at least a couple of photos in which Rihanna looks as if she's packing a couple of extra pounds, but her father believes she was in dire need for a wake-up call not long ago.

So, he gave it to her, prompting her to go on a diet, the Daily Mail reports.

Ronald Fenty and Rihanna only reconciled in 2010 after a while of not speaking to each other but, clearly, he has no issues talking about her with the tabs.

In an interview with Heat, Fenty says the last time Rihanna was home, he told her bluntly that she was “fat.”

She's now on a diet.

“I actually thought she was a little fat last time I saw her,” he says. By the time he saw her again, at the Grammys 2012, RiRi had gotten back in shape and looked “excellent.”

“When I saw her this time, I thought she was back to her normal size. I used to joke with her, 'Robyn, you're getting too fat!' But I think she's fine, I think she looked excellent, as everyone saw, at the Grammys,” Mr. Fenty explains.

“She's dieting, she's working out,” he adds.

In the same interview, he also opens up about how he feels regarding Rihanna getting back with her abusive ex Chris Brown to work on new music together.

As he puts it, the man is allowed to make mistakes – don't we all.

“Chris is a nice guy and everyone is entitled to make a mistake in their life – God knows how many I've made. She's her own woman now,” he says.

Rihanna has always been very outspoken about her diet, workout routine and whether she believed the skinnier the better a woman.

Back in May 2010, for instance, the stunner said in an interview she would never go on a strict diet to become size 0, because she believed she'd been born with curves and must feel proud of them, which she did.

Many of her fans admire her for telling them beauty doesn't know just one size or body type.
