For the first time in her career, Rihanna's name comes up in a cocaine scandal. It all started when she uploaded photos of herself handling suspiciously-looking white powder, which many believe was cocaine.

The photos were posted to her Instagram account but they've been deleted since then. You can see two of them plus a close-up in the image attached to this article.

They show Rihanna on the shoulders of her bodyguard at Coachella 2012. In all of the pics, there's a trace of white powder on the man's head.

The Mirror zoomed in on one photo, and concludes it can't but have been cocaine.

“Rihanna has posted a picture on Instagram of herself mucking about with some white powder on a man's head at Coachella with the caption, 'Memories don't live like people do #coachella',” the British tab writes.

“But now she's uploaded this pic which has got everyone in a right tizzy. What's that mound of white powder on the guy's head? Is she chopping it up? If she's not, she's doing a very good job of pretending to,” the Mirror further says.

That Rihanna took all these photos down could be confirmation that she was, indeed, doing something illegal.

On the other hand, someone like her, who knows how famous she is, must have thought she would end up in all the papers if she pulled a stunt like this.

Hence, this is probably just a PR stunt meant to attract attention and generate headlines, the Mirror states.

“There's no way she didn't know everyone would be going mad trying to work out what it is – and that the automatic assumption would be that it's cocaine. So why release the picture? Because she doesn't care or just to cause a big hoo-hah?” says the publication.

At the moment, her fans are still debating online on what that white substance could have been. If it was really cocaine, Rihanna should be ashamed of herself because she has millions of people who look up to her, they say.
