Trion Worlds, a publisher which specializes in delivering MMO experiences, has announced that its upcoming online game Rift will be launched on March 1 on the North American market and on March 4 in Europe, with all those interested in the game offered the chance to pre-order the game both in its physical and in its digital only form.

Those players who will pre-order have a chance to take part in the head start period for Rift, which is set to debut on February 24, and they will also have access to the entire beta stage that is still on going.

Pre-orders also allow gamers to choose one of the three exclusive in-game pets to use once the MMO is live.

Rift comes in three editions, Standard, Digital Collector's and Retail Collector's Edition, with the prices set at 49.99, 59.99 and 79.99 dollars.

A subscription for Rift will cost 14.99 dollar per month, with Trion Worlds also offers reduced rates for those who are willing to commit in the long term.

Rift is a fantasy-based MMO that will need to face the uphill task of surviving in the same market as behemoth World of Warcraft.

Lars Buttler, who is the chief executive officer at Trion Worlds, has stated, “The launch of Rift is the culmination of our tireless efforts over the past several years to bring players the most complete, full-featured, and dynamic online game they’ve ever experienced.”

He added, “Through the dedication, creativity, and incredible track record of our veteran development team, we’ve been able to create an exceptionally polished and immersive online world filled with adventure, surprise, and beauty. We can’t wait to share Rift with players around the world.”

Rift is entirely fantasy-based, but Trion is also working on End of Nations, a warfare themed MMO which is based around more real world concepts, which does not have a launch date.
