After it has recently launched new additions to the Digital Imaging Systems Series, Ricoh, a well-known provider of digital office equipment, unveiled its latest business oriented device named Priport DX 3340, a digital duplicator that is said to lower costs as it can print a page at one-third of a cent.

If you remember, the previous devices - Aficio MP 5500, Aficio MP 6500 and the Aficio MP 7500 incorporated copy, scan, print, and document storage capabilities as well as enhanced technology and security features. The last one, on the other hand, is a two features only, being able to duplicate and scan hundreds of pages and to automatically eliminate unsightly binding margins (the scanner function).

Moreover, it enables users to print up to 130 pages per minute (ppm) on a wide variety of paper stock including construction paper, card stock and NCR paper, as the Priport DX3340 is also equipped with a scanner that can support textbooks as large as 11"x 17".

As all the others scanners and printers previously released, the Priport DX3340 features a quite large, multipurpose LCD that helps users in their work.

"Ricoh's commitment to creating environmentally sound products was an integral component in the design of the Priport DX3340. It features Instant Start-Up Technology and an Automatic Shut Off function that will completely shut the unit down after a user-specified period of inactivity. The Priport DX3340 also complies with the RoHS directive and the WEEE directive to conserve the environment," said the company.

The manufacturer hasn't revealed up until now the release date for its latest product, however, it has announced that it will be retailed at a suggested $5,420.
