Up to 28 ppm, quite a lot of money-saving features

The SOHO segment is probably one of the largest "slices" of the computer peripherals' market, but, at the same time, it's also one of the most demanding, because we're talking about budget-conscious people who are very careful with their expenses. And this is the reason why the people over at Ricoh launched the GX2500, a new printer that uses the company's GelSprinter technology while providing certain features targeting especially small offices.

Thus, the GX2500 is the first in the line of Ricoh GelSprinter products that is specifically designed for workgroups of up to three users. The GX2500 produces documents at 28 pages per minute (ppm) in both color and grayscale, using a superior viscous ink formula. Furthermore, the GelSprinter technology allows users to obtain very vivid colors, the documents obtained henceforth being not only waterproof and fade resistant but also protected against any smearing and bleed-through.

Further demonstrating that it has been designed especially for the SOHO segment, the GX2500 offers a comprehensive set of cost effective features, including the Level Color Mode. With the Level Color Mode, businesses reduce the cost-per-page utilizing less ink to produce high quality images and graphics, while maintaining legible text. The GX Series of products uses high-yield viscous ink cartridges that are compatible across the entire line of GelSprinter products.

"Ricoh is excited to now provide a GelSprinter product to users in the small office environment," said Ron Potesky, vice president of Corporate Product Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "No matter the size, every business has a need to produce high quality documents. The GX2500 will give small businesses the opportunity to reap the benefits of a high-end printer at an affordable, entry-level cost."

The GX2500 has a MSRP of $169.00, which seems to be quite an acceptable price tag, even for the users on a tight budget.
