6 years after the last installment of the Ricochet series was released, Ricochet Infinity from Reflexive Entertainment introduces a new way to play the game by putting the player in direct control of the ball. Instead of waiting for the ball to return to the paddle Recall players can at any time change the ball's direction, giving full control during every second of the game and not just when the ball hits the paddle.

"Once you play Ricochet with the new Recall ability, there is no going back," said Ion Hardie, Lead Level Designer on Ricochet Infinity. "It enhances the game play so much you'll wonder how you played a brick-busting game without it."

Ricochet Infinity also enables gamers to create and share levels with other players all over the world. Unlike previous Ricochet games, players can now download, rate and tag new levels without ever leaving the game. Another unique feature introduced with Ricochet Infinity, is the new ability to directly download levels from within the game, making it easier for players to trade levels, watch and see the levels they've created climb through the ranks of the most downloaded levels, and who knows, maybe even become famous.

"Ricochet Infinity has an endless supply of new levels being created by a very diverse group of imaginative levels designers form around the world," said James C. Smith, lead developer and creator of Ricochet. "The flexibility of the Infinity scripting engine enables very unique types of levels to be created. With hundreds of new level being released each month, Ricochet Infinity's ability to sort, rate and tag levels becomes an invaluable tool to find the levels you want to play."

The game is scheduled for release in the mid July, with updated information screenshots to be posted over the next few days over at the official Ricochet Infinity website. Ricochet Infinity is said to reinvent the brick-busting genre, with great gameplay and visuals, but I can't imagine a revamped gameplay scheme without moving it to the 3D universe. Anyway, it sounds fairly good and worth to try out. Keep posted for the new screens.
