Comedian Ricky Gervais does not approve of the shark cull currently underway in Western Australia, and he is anything but shy about letting others know how he feels about this initiative.

Just days after posting a picture of himself holding a piece of paper asking that high officials in said region drop their plan to kill sharks, the comedian took to Twitter to once again voice his complaints regarding the cull, Ecorazzi tells us.

This time, Ricky Gervais got a bit more personal, and said that he very much loved Australia, chiefly due to the fact that it was home to a lot of plant and animal species.

“I love everything about Australia. The people, the attitude & especially the wildlife,” the comedian wrote in his message. “Please protect your sharks. They were there first,” he then added.

Ironically enough, Ricky Gervais' plea came just one day after a female tiger shark was captured in Western Australia's waters and shot four times in the head.

As reported, green group Sea Shepherd did not take lightly to this piece of news, and was quick to accuse Western Australia of being no different from Japan, whom many point the finger at for its whale and dolphin hunts.
