Ricki Lake and Derek Hough are bent on winning this season’s mirrorball trophy on Dancing With the Stars. Last night, during movie theme night, they got the first 10s of the season – and came just one point short of a perfect score.

Proving that all good things come to those who wait and who, most importantly, are willing to work very hard for them, Ricki and Derek wowed judges and audiences again, with a passionate tango on the theme song from “Psycho.”

However, before taking to the dancefloor, the intro video showed Ricki having a minor breakdown and even saying that she was thinking of quitting the show because it had become too difficult for her.

“I feel a tremendous amount of pressure. Has anyone ever quit the show? I am going to have a breakdown. I just can’t do it. It’s just very confusing for me,” she told her partner.

“I am not getting it. I want to quit. Like I totally want to quit – and I am not a quitter,” she stressed.

Luckily, she didn’t quit, but soldiered on to become the celebrity to get the first 10s (2 of them, to be more precise) of the season.

While judges couldn’t stop singing her and Derek’s praise, Ricki was actually having a hard time believing she actually performed so good just minutes before.

“I’m sort of in shock,” she told reporters backstage, as the video below will confirm.

“This was a tough week, the hardest week for me. I was really, really having a hard time but I’m so happy that the judges liked it and that everyone else in the audience seemed to like it, too,” she added.

As we also informed you earlier today, Chaz Bono also had a great night on last night’s show, albeit his score was considerably lower than Ricki’s (she got 29, he got 21).

Cher, his mother, was in the audience for the first time to cheer him on, and it seems to have worked wonders for his morale, as he got his biggest score since he came on the show.
