Things are finally looking up for Richard III. The late monarch's first funeral might not have been fit for a king, but his second one will surely live up to expectations.

Officials in Leicester have announced that they are willing to spend some $1.5 million (€1.14 million) on reburying the king.

They plan to build him a new tomb in the Leicester Cathedral, and even hold a ceremony to mark the event, Live Science reports.

As Dean of Leicester David Monteith puts it, “We want to create a really wonderful space in the Cathedral for him and the many thousands of people we know will want to come to visit and pay their respects.”

Richard III's remains were dug out last summer from under a parking lot in Leicester.

Investigations caried out later on revealed that, after he had died in battle, the monarch was merely thrown in a grave that wasn't even big enough to properly accommodate his body.
