Battery life is one of the most important aspects for smartphones users. Since this new breed of communication devices made their debut on the market, manufacturers have been struggling to offer more than 2 days of battery life on medium use.

Few managed to do that without having to include a huge battery that takes quite some time to charge and adds to that smartphone's size and weight.

There are many organizations and companies that are now researching new technologies that will allow future batteries to be charged in just several minutes, or batteries that will last a lot longer without taking too much space within a phone's chassis.

However, one particular company has come up with an ingenious way to charge a phone while on the move without having to employ any innovatory technology that would take a lot of time and money to research.

AMPWARE has developed a new charging case that allows users to charge their smartphones manually while on the go. The case comes with a hand-crank and a hidden USB sync/charging CrankCable, which must be plugged into the smartphone.

The case generates power from a biomechanical cranking cycle. The case has been fitted with one of the most powerful and efficient electric dynamos, which produces AC current and converts the power to DC through circuitry.

Crank faster and longer for more battery life

Basically, the more a user cranks, the more power is generated and deployed into the smartphone, thus giving them more battery life even when they don't have access to power.

For the time being, the CrankCase is compatible with iPhone 5, 5S and 6, but cases for other smartphones are already in the works.

According to developers, for around 40 minutes of cranking, you will get around 3 hours of battery life from an iPhone. However, actual power generation and battery life may vary depending on user cranking and device usage.

If the CrankCase interests you, then you should support its Indiegogo campaign. AMPWARE plans to begin shipping in October 2015.
