He will buy it for his Xbox 360

It's really nice to hear developers that appreciate the work of their fellow colleagues. Most of them only take other people's games and analyze them with great scrutiny in order to find something that didn't work and say how they could have made it much better. But every once in a while, some developers accept the fact that other games except theirs are also popular. Such is the case with Ted Price, the Chief Executive Officer of Insomniac Games, the studio behind the very popular PlayStation 3 exclusive shooter, Resistance, and which is currently developing its sequel. During an interview with Game Daily, he praised the hit Gears of War shooter which is an Xbox 360 exclusive and said that he would definitely buy the sequel to that game for his own console.

“Ultimately, as a PS3 owner and an Xbox 360 owner myself, those are two games I would get. I want to have the most entertaining experiences on both consoles, so I am going to get the games that have the best feedback. So far, Gears has had fantastic feedback, and I think it looks beautiful. Resistance will make a lot of PS3 owners happy too.” he said about the fact that both games would be launching on the same day, November 7.

He also tackled the issue that the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, was pushed back a week although it was scheduled to also release on November 7. “It'd be flattering to think they pushed the film back for the games, but I think it had to do with the election more than anything else”. He also developed the subject saying that the film studios are taking game releases more and more into account. “They're not getting the people in the theater, so they may be more aware of the release dates. It's great to see that kind of justification given to what we do for a living in terms of providing entertainment.”

All in all, it's really nice to see developers appreciating the work of their fellow colleagues. Also, I really think that movie producers should start considering games as serious contenders to their titles.
