Capcom seems to be planning yet another Gamecube port

Things are not very clear and everybody would be more than happy to hear about a Resident Evil 2 remake, but nobody's perfect. The latest issue of Famitsu announces that Capcom is planning a Resident Evil Zero re-make for... the Nintendo Wii console. The stranger thing is that, if these reports are true, the game will be released this summer, which means that the work on the remake is almost done, which further means that this has been a pretty well kept secret.

Anyway, the report suggests that almost everything will remain the same as in the original version: the heroes will be Rebecca and Billy and so on. It is unclear, though, if it will be just a remake made in order to get some more bucks from the gamers (which wouldn't have much sense, since Zero is the least popular game in the series) or it will really be a well done job, borrowing some new stuff from the Resident Evil 4 technology. Also, a reason for doubt is the fact that only the Nintendo Wii will be needed to control the character which should be an OK decision ONLY if there will be some controller improvements made.

However, it seems that, even though the number of people angry for the Resident Evil Gamecube ports to the Wii is growing, this port will only be made for the Japanese market. But, just as we said at the beginning, nothing is certain at the moment and Capcom is yet to make an official statement. We're waiting for that and really hope, since they started this remake frenzy, they will continue with Resident Evil 1 and, especially 2. Revamped controls and headshots are a must, of course! So stay tuned with Softpedia if you want to find out the latest details regarding this story and, of course, many other.
