In the United Kingdom

Capcom's zombie shooter, Resident Evil 5, continues to amaze us. Quite some time after its initial release, the title manages to retain the number one position in the United Kingdom videogame chart, beating Wii Fit to the spot.

The zombie shooter has been plagued by accusations of racism and some have criticized the control scheme of the game, but it seems that the long term fans of the series are helping it sell quite a lot of copies.

Wii Fit continues to hold on to the number two and doesn't look interested in giving it up anytime soon.

Somewhat surprising, Street Fighter IV, also from Capcom, is now at number three in the chart, after dipping as low as number seven last week. Its rise comes at the expense of Professor Layton and the Curious Village, which lost one spot, and WWE Legends of Wrestlemania, from THQ, which is also falling one place to reach number five.

It's quite interesting to see the first Nintendo Wii game in second place and the first Nintendo DS game in fourth place, considering the domination of the chart that Nintendo once enjoyed.

FIFA 09, the football sports game from EA Sports, is at number six, enjoying a rise on the back of the international fixtures that probably created more interest in the virtual representation of the sport. Call of Duty: World at War, from Treyarch and Activision, is also seeing a comeback, getting from the last place in the top ten to the seventh.

Considering the popularity of the Nintendo DS and that of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, it's surprising to see that GTA: Chinatown Wars could not go higher than number six in the chart, now settling at eight.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is at number nine, reentering the top ten, while Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. closes the chart. The newly-released Wheelman did not manage to crack the top ten.
