Why leave your couch when you can use a remote control for "handhandling" light scenes? Here's the Insteon solution for the lazy.

The RemoteLinc is a wireless "controller" that, well, is only compatible with INSTEON devices in your home. The thing lets you customize and control entire scenes with each of the 6 buttons plus all on&off. It can handle light scenes from all the rooms of your house as well as kitchen appliances or your home theater device or fireplace. You can even dim the light to make the environment a little bit more romantic.

Here's how it works. The RemoteLinc sends commands via Radio Frequency to an AccessPoint (sold separately). An AccessPoint plug-in module communicates the commands to the powerline that will deliver power and scene commands to INSTEON-compatible devices throughout your house. The device can control up to six lights or groups of lights connected to the INSTEON network. Each connected light will need to be controlled by an INSTEON-compatible SwitchLinc or plugged into a Lamplinc. If you want to "talk" to a fan, start coffee pot brewing, or trigger other appliance on or off, you also have to plug into an Appliance Linc.

Anyway, you still have to consume some body calories in order to change the batteries once in a while. The RemoteLinc is powered by a quartet of AAA alkaline batteries (sold separately). It's available for 49,95$, but is currently out of stock. They're now accepting pre-orders for Q2 Shipment.
